Moderation Philosophy
Moderation in TGK Community exists to protect the standard of the room, not to impose ideological obedience. It is there to stop degradation, preserve clarity, and keep good-faith disagreement possible.
What Moderation Does
- Prevents harassment, humiliation, and targeted hostility.
- Ensures replies include an appropriate Steel Man summary.
- Removes incoherent, malicious, or unserious contributions.
- Redirects posts or leads that belong in a different room or require a different standard.
- Protects users from impersonation or targeted hostility.
- Upholds the Charter and Participation Guide in spirit and practice.
What Moderation Does Not Do
- Suppress reasonable disagreement.
- Enforce political or ideological alignment.
- Intervene in disputes outside TGK spaces.
- Censor criticism expressed in good faith.
- Promise that every weak contribution will be rescued rather than removed.
Moderation Ethos
Moderators are custodians, not platform landlords. Their job is to keep the space usable for serious people: sharp enough for disagreement, clean enough for honest inquiry, and disciplined enough that the loudest member does not set the tone for everyone else.
