Participation Guide
This guide outlines how to participate in TGK Community discussions with structure, intention, and clarity. It complements the Community Charter and the Steel Man Handbook.
Posting Replies
- Starting a new thread does not require a Steel Man summary.
- If you choose ‘Challenge’ when replying to a person, begin with a Steel Man summary.
- Keep replies clear and avoid inflammatory phrasing.
- Support claims with reasoning or evidence where relevant.
- Use paragraphs to maintain readability in longer replies.
Votes never require a reply. If you reply, choose a reply type (Reply, Agree, Insight, Challenge) and post accordingly.
Using Pseudonyms
Pseudonyms provide privacy without compromising accountability. Select a name that reflects a constructive presence. Do not impersonate others or use provocative names.
Navigating Threads
- Read existing replies before contributing.
- Avoid repeating points unless adding meaningful depth.
- When you use ‘Challenge’, use the Steel Man summary to anchor the specific point you are addressing.
