Gospel of Truth
A poetic meditation attributed to Valentinus — the good news of self-knowledge and the return to the Father.
The Jung Codex ✦ The Gospel of Truth ✦ The Light Returned
Codex I of the Nag Hammadi Library, sometimes referred to as the Jung Codex, is one of the first manuscripts recovered from the find near Jabal al-TARIF in Upper Egypt. It contains a small group of Coptic texts associated with early Christian and Gnostic teaching, including the Gospel of Truth, the Tripartite Tractate, the Treatise on the Resurrection, and related works.
The writings preserved in Codex I explore themes characteristic of Gnostic theology, such as the relationship between knowledge and salvation, the nature of ignorance, and the restoration of the soul to its origin. They reflect the thought of communities often linked with the Valentinian tradition and other non-orthodox currents of early Christianity.
Within Codex Reborn in The Vault, these texts are presented in a readable format for study and reflection. Formatting is intended to clarify structure and flow while keeping as close as possible to the content of the surviving manuscripts, so that readers can engage directly with the language and symbolism of the codex.
